In the 13th staging of the 1986 World Cup held in Mexico. Though no one expected much from Argentina, they won their second title and remained undefeated throughout the entire tournament. The Mexican newspaper, The Sun, wrote on the front page “Germany Lost” instead of “Argentina won”.
When facing England in the quarter finals, Argentina refused to lose and Maradona scored two historic goals: The Hand of God and Goal of the Century. After that match, Argentina defeated Belgium 2-0 and Maradona also scored the two goals that led Argentina to victory.
In the final match, Argentina beat Germany 3-2. Brown, Valdano and Burruchaga scored for Argentina, plus the outstanding performances of Batista, Enrique and Pumpido, among others. Grupo A
