In the USA 1994 World Cup, Brazil claimed their fourth World Cup title after 24 years without winning a World Cup –the last title was that of Mexico 1970. After a disappointing and rough final match the ended 0-0 on extra time, Italy and Brazil had to decide the match on a penalty shootout and the winner would take the trophy back home. The final match at the Rose Bowl was tense but devoid of scoring chances. Despite the strategies disposed by the FIFA to promote offensive play, both teams failed to produce a goal. Both teams were seeking their fourth title but Brazil ultimately won and achieved their fourth title. Despite winning the final match on a penalty shootout, Carlos Pereira’s team had and excellent performance throughout the tournament beating the host country 1-0, The Netherlands 3-2 and Sweden 1-0. On that particular match against The Netherlands, Brazil showcased its best football and it was probably one of the best matches in the entire competition.
