World Cup mascots
With the staging of each World Cup, new balls, stadiums and countries are presented, but for the little one, the thing that matters the most if the World Cup Mascot. The World Cup mascot is mostly targeted at children with cartoon shows and other merchandise released to coincide with the competition.
Prior to 1966, Mascots were not a part of World Cups and to promote World Cups, host countries set different strategies. For instance, in the 1950 World Cup, Brazil promoted the opening of the Maracanã stadium. For the 1966 FIFA World Cup, England introduced the first official World Cup mascot, which represented the culture, fauna and flora, and the traditional values of the hosting country.
