Spain
Spain took part in 12 World Cups throughout their football history, achieving its greatest performance in 1950 when they were placed fourth. On the other hand, they claimed 2 UEFA European Football Championship, one of them in the latest staging of the championship and also, they won the gold medal in the Barcelona Olympics.
In the qualifying stage for South Africa 2010, Spain bashed their opponents and won every single match in their group hammering Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Belgium. With an average of 2.8 goals per match, the “Red Fury” was one of the first teams to qualify for the competition.
With this encouraging background –as regards results and goals- the team coach by Vicente del Bosque has great expectations for the upcoming World Cup. The presence of celebrities like Andrés Iniesta, David Villa, Cesc Fábregas y el “Niño” Torres –among others- make Spain proud of its team and most European believe that Spain will win the cup.
